A top price for John Olsen - as previously expected
The work Lily Pond at Humpty-Doo, 2004 by John Olsen was sold in the Important Australian Art auction at Bonhams in Sidney in May last year. The price achieved of AUD 369,000.00 (€ 343,863.57) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 300,000.00 – 400,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Lily Pond at Humpty-Doo, 2004 is the most expensive artwork by John Olsen that we have observed at auctions so far.
