Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Hopping Mouse, 1978 by John Olsen was auctioned at Bonhams in Sydney in November last year. The price achieved of AUD 984.00 (€ 640.27) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Olsen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lily Pond at Humpty-Doo, 2004 in May last year with an auction result of AUD 369,000.00 (€ 343,863.57).
