Artwork auctioned at six times the upper estimate price
When the work Plains Warrior I by John Nieto was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in August 2021, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 1,800.00 but the actual price achieved was more than six times as high at USD 11,475.00 (€ 9,724.58). Admittedly, works by John Nieto have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Traditional Dancer II in April this year with an auction result of USD 69,675.00 (€ 63,111.41).
Kunstwerk zum Sechsfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Plains Warrior I von John Nieto im August 2021 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – USD 1.800,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit USD 11.475,00 (€ 9.724,58) mehr als sechsmal so hoch. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Nieto auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Traditional Dancer II im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 69.675,00 (€ 63.111,41).
