Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2021 Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Modern Native American ArtFeaturing the Wendy and Les Fisher Collection of Canadian Inuit Sculpture, which included the work A John Nieto Painting by John Nieto. The price achieved of USD 19,062.50 (€ 16,154.66) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Nieto - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Traditional Dancer II, which sold at auction in April this year for USD 69,675.00 (€ 63,111.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2021 führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Modern Native American ArtFeaturing the Wendy and Les Fisher Collection of Canadian Inuit Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit A John Nieto Painting von John Nieto zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 19.062,50 (€ 16.154,66) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von John Nieto mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Traditional Dancer II beobachtet, die im April diesen Jahres für USD 69.675,00 (€ 63.111,41) versteigert wurde.
