Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2002 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS, which included the work Sunset at Kynance Cove, Cornwall by John Mogford. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,115.00 (€ 3,361.22) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by John Mogford have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in March 2008 the work Cockle gatherers on the Cornish coast was auctioned for GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,281.24).
