Auction result misses estimated price range

In August this year a collector was able to acquire the work Narragansett Passing by John Mecray for USD 128.00 (€ 118.09). This price was achieved in the auction Summer Americana Online | Bonhams Skinner at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts and was even below the estimate range of USD 200.00 – 300.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Mecray achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Reliance off Sandy Hook lightship in July 2006 with an auction result of USD 13,200.00 (€ 10,341.59).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Im August diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Narragansett Passing von John Mecray für USD 128,00 (€ 118,09) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Summer Americana Online | Bonhams Skinner bei Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 200,00 – 300,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Mecray erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Reliance off Sandy Hook lightship im Juli 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 13.200,00 (€ 10.341,59).
