A top price for John Lewis - as previously expected
In May 2007 Christies in London held the auction The Irish Sale, which included the work Portrait of a lady, half-length, in a yellow dress with blue bows, feigned oval by John Lewis. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 7,440.00 (€ 10,948.46) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Portrait of a lady, half-length, in a yellow dress with blue bows, feigned oval is the most expensive artwork by John Lewis that we have observed at auctions so far.
