Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2006 Sothebys in Olympia held the auction 20th Century British and Irish Art, which included the work Abstract Composition by John Levee. The price achieved of GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,655.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Levee achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work February Iv 1960 in July 2020 with an auction result of USD 47,500.00 (€ 40,343.13).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2006 führte Sothebys in Olympia die Auktion 20th Century British and Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Abstract Composition von John Levee zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.800,00 (€ 2.655,38) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Levee erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit February Iv 1960 im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 47.500,00 (€ 40.343,13).
