Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Killarney Lakes from Lord Kenmare’s Deer Park by John Laporte was sold in the Old Master and British Drawings and Watercolours including a Fine Collection of Old Master Prints auction at Christies in London in July 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,596.48) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Laporte - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Four Views Of Ireland: The Artillery Bridge, Killarney, County Kerry; Deer Grazing, Lake Killarney, County Kerry; Figures Fishing In A River Landscape And Figures With Cattle In A Wooded Landscape , which sold at auction in May 2008 for GBP 11,250.00 (€ 14,310.49).
