Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2012 a collector was able to acquire the work A Folio Of Irish Landscapes by John Laporte for GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,502.76). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master & British Drawings Sale at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by John Laporte have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Four Views Of Ireland: The Artillery Bridge, Killarney, County Kerry; Deer Grazing, Lake Killarney, County Kerry; Figures Fishing In A River Landscape And Figures With Cattle In A Wooded Landscape in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 14,310.49).
