Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2000 Christies in London held the auction Irish Pictures, which included the work Black Rock Castle, Dublin Bay by John Laporte. The price achieved of GBP 1,175.00 (€ 1,885.44) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by John Laporte have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Four Views Of Ireland: The Artillery Bridge, Killarney, County Kerry; Deer Grazing, Lake Killarney, County Kerry; Figures Fishing In A River Landscape And Figures With Cattle In A Wooded Landscape in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 14,310.49).

Im Mai 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion Irish Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Black Rock Castle, Dublin Bay von John Laporte zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.175,00 (€ 1.885,44) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden.
