A top price for John Kirby - as previously expected
In November 2006 Sothebys in Olympia held the auction 20th Century British and Irish Art, which included the work Virgin Of Sorrows by John Kirby. The price achieved of GBP 12,000.00 (€ 17,820.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Virgin Of Sorrows is the most expensive artwork by John Kirby that we have observed at auctions so far.
