Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2005 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Paintings, which included the work Near Gomshall, Surrey by John Horace Hooper. The price achieved of GBP 960.00 (€ 1,410.36) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Admittedly, works by John Horace Hooper have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Moment'S Contemplation in November 2005 with an auction result of GBP 4,200.00 (€ 6,170.33).

Im November 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Near Gomshall, Surrey von John Horace Hooper zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 960,00 (€ 1.410,36) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Horace Hooper auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Moment'S Contemplation im November 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.200,00 (€ 6.170,33).
