Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2003 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Pictures, which included the work A country lass by John Hanson Walker. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,465.00 (€ 4,497.47) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by John Hanson Walker have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in June 2001 the work Portrait Of Lewin Edward Cadogan, Seated Three-Quarter-Length, In A Sailor Suit; And Portrait Of Sophie Beatrix Mary Cadogan, Seated Three-Quarter-Length, In A Black Dress With Lace-Trimmed Apron was auctioned for GBP 5,287.50 (€ 8,783.59).
