Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Fishing boats coming ashore in the channel by John H. Wilson was sold in the Maritime auction at Christies in New York in February 2006. The price achieved of USD 5,760.00 (€ 4,830.19) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John H. Wilson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Street Car Scene, which sold at auction in October this year for USD 12,800.00 (€ 12,112.04).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.760,00 (€ 4.830,19) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von John H.
