Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Landscape with Shepherdess by John Giovanni Califano was auctioned at Il Ponte in October 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 900.00 – 1,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 800.00. Admittedly, works by John Giovanni Califano have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work In From The Catch in September 2004 with an auction result of USD 6,572.50 (€ 5,293.15).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Landscape with Shepherdess von John Giovanni Califano im Oktober 2012 bei Il Ponte versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 900,00 – 1.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 800,00 den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Giovanni Califano auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit In From The Catch im September 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.572,50 (€ 5.293,15).
