In November 2010 Christies in London held the auction Sporting & Wildlife Art Including an Important Private Collection of Works by Archibald Thorburn and Charles Frederick Tunnicliffe, which included the work A successful shoot by John Gifford. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,215.61), 38% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by John Gifford have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Day's Bag in January 2002 with an auction result of USD 35,250.00 (€ 41,016.99).

Im November 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Sporting & Wildlife Art Including an Important Private Collection of Works by Archibald Thorburn and Charles Frederick Tunnicliffe durch, in der auch die Arbeit A successful shoot von John Gifford zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 8.215,61) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Gifford auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Day's Bag im Januar 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 35.250,00 (€ 41.016,99).
