This artwork by John Fulleylove achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in September 2002. In the British and Victorian Pictures auction, the work The University church of Saint Mary's with Queen's College beyond, Oxford sold for GBP 1,527.50 (€ 2,427.55) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 800.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by John Fulleylove; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Virgin's fountain, Nazareth sold at auction in June 2004 with the realized price of GBP 2,868.00 (€ 4,268.44).
