Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2006 Christies in Melbourne held the auction Australian, International & Contemporary Paintings Part II, which included the work To There #1 by John Firth-Smith. It changed hands for a price of AUD 5,736.00 (€ 3,450.05) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of AUD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Firth-Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sounds in April 2006 with an auction result of AUD 59,750.00 (€ 35,938.03).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2006 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion Australian, International & Contemporary Paintings Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit To There #1 von John Firth-Smith zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von AUD 5.736,00 (€ 3.450,05) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Firth-Smith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sounds im April 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 59.750,00 (€ 35.938,03).
