Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Swim by John Firth-Smith was auctioned at Christies in Melbourne in November 2004. The price achieved of AUD 717.00 (€ 417.63) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 500.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Firth-Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sounds in April 2006 with an auction result of AUD 59,750.00 (€ 35,938.03).
