This artwork by John Ferren achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March 2012. In the Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture Including the Collection of Dr. Mark and Irene Kauffman auction, the work Untitled No. 12 sold for USD 32,500.00 (€ 24,373.78) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Ferren - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in October 2007 for USD 109,000.00 (€ 75,338.68).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Ferren erzielte im März 2012 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture Including the Collection of Dr. Mark and Irene Kauffman wurde die Arbeit Untitled No. 12 für USD 32.500,00 (€ 24.373,78) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von John Ferren mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für USD 109.000,00 (€ 75.338,68) versteigert wurde.
