Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March 2003 Christies in London held the auction British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures, which included the work The Ford by John Falconar Slater. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 822.50 (€ 1,191.49), 18% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by John Falconar Slater have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Over Putney Heath in May 2002 with an auction result of GBP 5,019.00 (€ 7,859.82).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Ford von John Falconar Slater zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 822,50 (€ 1.191,49) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Falconar Slater auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Over Putney Heath im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.019,00 (€ 7.859,82).
