Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A figure sitting in an extensive moorland landscape by John Falconar Slater was sold in the BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL DRAWINGS AND WATERCOLOURS AND ILLUST auction at Christies in London in December 2001. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 25.00 – 200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 58.75 (€ 95.99) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Falconar Slater achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Over Putney Heath in May 2002 with an auction result of GBP 5,019.00 (€ 7,859.82).
