Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April 2007 Sothebys in London held the auction Scottish Pictures: Edinburgh Assembly Rooms, which included the work Still Life With Fruit And A Bottle by John Cunningham. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 6,600.00 (€ 9,663.25). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Cunningham - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Table Top, which sold at auction in November 2001 for GBP 16,450.00 (€ 26,177.13).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April 2007 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Scottish Pictures: Edinburgh Assembly Rooms durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still Life With Fruit And A Bottle von John Cunningham zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 6.600,00 (€ 9.663,25) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von John Cunningham mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Table Top beobachtet, die im November 2001 für GBP 16.450,00 (€ 26.177,13) versteigert wurde.
