Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2004 Christies in London held the auction Sporting Art and Dogs, which included the work The Bristol, Bath and London Coach in snow before an inn; and The Bath, Reading and London coach in a snow-covered market place by John Charles Maggs. The price achieved of GBP 2,390.00 (€ 3,557.04) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Other works by John Charles Maggs have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in June 2002 the work A Bristol to London mail coach with a hunt beyond was auctioned for GBP 3,290.00 (€ 5,088.88).
