Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2010 a collector was able to acquire the work View of the north and west front of Sion sic House with the kitchen, 1802, the seat of the Duke of Northumberland; and View of Dalham Tower, Westmoreland (both illustrated) by John Buckler for GBP 812.50 (€ 970.94). This price was achieved in the auction The Collection of the Late John Appleby: A Channel Island Treasure House at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00 set by the auc Other works by John Buckler have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in January 2009 by the work South West view of Fountains Hall, Yorkshire at GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,688.50).
