Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2016 Christies in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, Maritime Art, Sporting & Wildlife Art, which included the work The convalescent by John Bostock. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 7,000.00 – 9,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,911.62) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by John Bostock have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2008 the work Rose Bradwardine, The Heroine Of Walter Scott'S Novel "Waverley" was auctioned for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 9,068.06).

Im Juli 2016 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, Maritime Art, Sporting & Wildlife Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The convalescent von John Bostock zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.911,62) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von John Bostock konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im November 2008 die Arbeit Rose Bradwardine, The Heroine Of Walter Scott'S Novel "Waverley" für GBP 7.500,00 (€ 9.068,06) versteigert.
