This artwork by John Biggers achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in New York in November 2020. In the American Art auction, the work Homage to Gelede sold for USD 21,562.50 (€ 18,046.95) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Biggers - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mother and Three Children, which sold at auction in November 2018 for USD 52,500.00 (€ 46,365.80).
