Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2007 a collector was able to acquire the work 'Bord Du Nil, No. 2 (Kalabsche)' by John Beasly Greene for USD 8,400.00 (€ 6,149.34). This price was achieved in the auction Photographs from the Private Collection of Margaret W. Weston at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Beasly Greene achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le Tombeau De La Chrétienne, Vue Du Côté Nord in April 2014 with an auction result of USD 100,000.00 (€ 72,098.05).
