Auction result misses estimated price range
In December last year a collector was able to acquire the work Laden Grape Vine Against a Marble Garden Wall by John Barnard Whittaker for USD 255.00 (€ 238.36). This price was achieved in the auction Studio Art at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts and was even below the estimate range of USD 400.00 – 600.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Barnard Whittaker achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Lesson in November 2017 with an auction result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 42,023.87).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Laden Grape Vine Against a Marble Garden Wall von John Barnard Whittaker für USD 255,00 (€ 238,36) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Studio Art bei Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 400,00 – 600,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Barnard Whittaker erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Lesson im November 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 42.023,87).
