Auction result misses estimated price range
In December last year a collector was able to acquire the work On the Clyde, Glasgow by John Atkinson Grimshaw for GBP 56,700.00 (€ 64,008.78). This price was achieved in the auction British and European Art: Part 1 at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 60,000.00 – 100,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Atkinson Grimshaw achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Liverpool Custom House And Wapping in December 2006 with an auction result of GBP 612,800.00 (€ 909,471.91).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit On the Clyde, Glasgow von John Atkinson Grimshaw für GBP 56.700,00 (€ 64.008,78) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion British and European Art: Part 1 bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 60.000,00 – 100.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Atkinson Grimshaw erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Liverpool Custom House And Wapping im Dezember 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 612.800,00 (€ 909.471,91).
