Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March this year Bonhams held the auction 19th Century and British Impressionist Art, which included the work Forge Valley by moonlight by John Atkinson Grimshaw. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 60,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 63,300.00 (€ 72,015.98). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Atkinson Grimshaw achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Liverpool Custom House And Wapping in December 2006 with an auction result of GBP 612,800.00 (€ 909,471.91).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion 19th Century and British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Forge Valley by moonlight von John Atkinson Grimshaw zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 60.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 63.300,00 (€ 72.015,98) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Atkinson Grimshaw erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Liverpool Custom House And Wapping im Dezember 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 612.800,00 (€ 909.471,91).
