Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work At the Park Gate by John Atkinson Grimshaw was sold in the European & British Art, Part I auction at Sothebys in London in July last year. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 180,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 189,000.00 (€ 225,699.57). Admittedly, works by John Atkinson Grimshaw have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Liverpool Custom House And Wapping in December 2006 with an auction result of GBP 612,800.00 (€ 909,471.91).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit At the Park Gate von John Atkinson Grimshaw wurde im Juli letzten Jahres in der Auktion European & British Art, Part I bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 180.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 189.000,00 (€ 225.699,57) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Atkinson Grimshaw auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Liverpool Custom House And Wapping im Dezember 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 612.800,00 (€ 909.471,91).
