The work 'Wish clouded cave and broider dreams and very artful ways' by John Arthur Lomax was sold in the British and Victorian including Scottish Paintings auction at Christies in London in March 2004. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,226.50 (€ 4,829.78) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Arthur Lomax - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work In Doubt, which sold at auction in June 2000 for GBP 10,575.00 (€ 16,762.68).
