In September 2006 Christies in New York held the auction The House Sale, which included the work Full Cry by John Arnold Wheeler. Here, the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 7,200.00 (€ 5,675.10). Admittedly, works by John Arnold Wheeler have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Mahogany Painted Canvas Four-Panel Screen in June 2001 with an auction result of USD 42,300.00 (€ 49,917.39).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September 2006 führte Christies in New York die Auktion The House Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Full Cry von John Arnold Wheeler zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 7.200,00 (€ 5.675,10) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Arnold Wheeler auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Mahogany Painted Canvas Four-Panel Screen im Juni 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 42.300,00 (€ 49.917,39).
