Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2004 a collector was able to acquire the work The Hospital Ship by John Allcot for AUD 537.75 (€ 314.19). This price was achieved in the auction THE JOHN SCHAEFFER COLLECTION AT RONA at Christies in Sydney and was even below the estimate range of AUD 600.00 – 800.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Allcot achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Buckingham in April 2003 with an auction result of AUD 11,750.00 (€ 5,991.73).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai 2004 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Hospital Ship von John Allcot für AUD 537,75 (€ 314,19) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion THE JOHN SCHAEFFER COLLECTION AT RONA bei Christies in Sydney erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 600,00 – 800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Allcot erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Buckingham im April 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 11.750,00 (€ 5.991,73).
