Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John A. Stewart could be acquired at Christies in London in November 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work The Italian liner Rex under the surveillance of two B-17's changed hands for GBP 250.00 (€ 302.27) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John A. Stewart achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The S.S. Liberte and the S. S. Independence passing the Statue of Liberty in June 2007 with an auction result of USD 5,760.00 (€ 4,260.36).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von John A. Stewart konnte im November 2008 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Christie's Interiors wechselte die Arbeit The Italian liner Rex under the surveillance of two B-17's für GBP 250,00 (€ 302,27) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John A. Stewart erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The S.S. Liberte and the S. S. Independence passing the Statue of Liberty im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.760,00 (€ 4.260,36).
