Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2004 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work Minding The Baby by Johannes Weiland. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 2,629.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Johannes Weiland - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The latest news, which sold at auction in February 2001 for GBP 6,462.50 (€ 10,125.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2004 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Minding The Baby von Johannes Weiland zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 2.629,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Johannes Weiland mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The latest news beobachtet, die im Februar 2001 für GBP 6.462,50 (€ 10.125,19) versteigert wurde.
