Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2017 a collector was able to acquire the work A view of Dordrecht with the Grote Kerk by Johannes Rutten for EUR 2,250.00. This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century & Modern Art at Christies in Amsterdam and was even below the estimate range of EUR 2,500.00 – 3,500.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Johannes Rutten have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Figures In The Streets Of A Dutch Town, Possibly The Gaardbrug In Utrecht in October 2007 with an auction result of EUR 11,650.00.
