The price achieved of USD 118,750.00 (€ 101,957.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, An old alchemist in his study is the most expensive artwork by Johannes Moreelse that we have observed at auctions so far.
