This artwork by Johannes Jelgerhuis achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May 2015. In the The I.Q. van Regteren Altena Collection Part IV auction, the work View from the doorway of the Sint Joriskerk, Amersfoort sold for EUR 2,750.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 1,200.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Johannes Jelgerhuis; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Am Waschtrog sold at auction in September 2017 with the realized price of EUR 4,960.00.
