In December 2016 Sothebys in London held the auction 19th Century European Paintings, which included the work Dutch winter On The Rhine by Johannes Duntze. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 27,500.00 (€ 32,151.96), 53% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Johannes Duntze; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Skaters at a Dutch hamlet sold at auction in September 2007 with the realized price of GBP 34,100.00 (€ 48,896.89).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 53 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2016 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 19th Century European Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dutch winter On The Rhine von Johannes Duntze zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 27.500,00 (€ 32.151,96) und damit 53% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Johannes Duntze; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Skaters at a Dutch hamlet im September 2007 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 34.100,00 (€ 48.896,89).
