Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Peaches and grapes on the vine, with a goblet of wine on a casket, on a partially draped stone ledge by Johannes Borman was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2001, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 29,375.00 (€ 46,744.88). Other works by Johannes Borman have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in September 2010 by the work Früchtestilleben mit Austern und Silberplatte. Um 1655. at CHF 78,000.00 (€ 58,467.02).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Peaches and grapes on the vine, with a goblet of wine on a casket, on a partially draped stone ledge von Johannes Borman im November 2001 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 29.375,00 (€ 46.744,88) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Johannes Borman wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im September 2010 die Arbeit Früchtestilleben mit Austern und Silberplatte. Um 1655. mit CHF 78.000,00 (€ 58.467,02).
