The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,200.00 (€ 1,792.91), 50% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Johann Wilhelm Weinmann achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Phytanthoza iconographia, Regensberg, 1735-1745 in May last year with an auction result of GBP 44,100.00 (€ 51,879.45).

Die Arbeit A collection of fruit and flower studies from, Phytanthoza iconographia von Johann Wilhelm Weinmann wurde im Oktober 2006 in der Auktion Travel and Natural History bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.200,00 (€ 1.792,91) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Johann Wilhelm Weinmann erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Phytanthoza iconographia, Regensberg, 1735-1745 im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 44.100,00 (€ 51.879,45).
