Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2014 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work Still Life Of Grapes by Johann Wilhelm Preyer. It changed hands for a price of USD 37,500.00 (€ 27,777.78) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Johann Wilhelm Preyer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Stillleben mit Weinglas und Früchten, which sold at auction in October 2003 for EUR 97,750.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2014 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still Life Of Grapes von Johann Wilhelm Preyer zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 37.500,00 (€ 27.777,78) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Johann Wilhelm Preyer mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Stillleben mit Weinglas und Früchten beobachtet, die im Oktober 2003 für EUR 97.750,00 versteigert wurde.
