Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Johann Moritz Rugendas achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2016. In the Topographical Pictures auction, the work Santiago from the hill of Santa Lucia, looking west sold for GBP 509,000.00 (€ 595,103.58) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 180,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Johann Moritz Rugendas; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Independencia market, Lima sold at auction in December 2016 with the realized price of GBP 725,000.00 (€ 847,642.63).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Johann Moritz Rugendas erzielte im Dezember 2016 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Topographical Pictures wurde die Arbeit Santiago from the hill of Santa Lucia, looking west für GBP 509.000,00 (€ 595.103,58) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 180.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Johann Moritz Rugendas; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit The Independencia market, Lima im Dezember 2016 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 725.000,00 (€ 847.642,63).
