The work Minerva Visiting The Muses On Mount Helicon by Johann König was sold in the Old Masters Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in December 2018. The auction ended at the price of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,711.33), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Johann König achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Saint Georges Terrassant Le Dragon in June 2009 with an auction result of EUR 772,646.00.

Die Arbeit Minerva Visiting The Muses On Mount Helicon von Johann König wurde im Dezember 2018 in der Auktion Old Masters Day Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 16.711,33) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Johann König erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Saint Georges Terrassant Le Dragon im Juni 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 772.646,00.
