Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work An italianate landscape with a shepherdess resting by a fountain by Johann Heinrich Roos was auctioned at Christies in New York in May 2001, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 4,700.00 (€ 5,558.84). Admittedly, works by Johann Heinrich Roos have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Huntsman Firing A Pistol In A Rocky Landscape in January 2007 with an auction result of USD 42,000.00 (€ 32,312.66).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit An italianate landscape with a shepherdess resting by a fountain von Johann Heinrich Roos im Mai 2001 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 4.700,00 (€ 5.558,84) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Johann Heinrich Roos auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Huntsman Firing A Pistol In A Rocky Landscape im Januar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 42.000,00 (€ 32.312,66).
