This work of art by Johann Christian Brand could be acquired at Bukowski in Stockholm in December 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Important Winter Sale auction, the work River landscape with figures changed hands for SEK 24,000.00 (€ 2,287.34) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of SEK 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. Admittedly, works by Johann Christian Brand have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Gegenstücke: Hirten mit Kühen und Ziegen in weiten Landschaften. 1792. in March 2014 with an auction result of CHF 18,000.00 (€ 14,779.41).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Johann Christian Brand konnte im Dezember 2019 bei Bukowski in Stockholm für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Important Winter Sale wechselte die Arbeit River landscape with figures für SEK 24.000,00 (€ 2.287,34) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von SEK 30.000,00 – 40.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Johann Christian Brand auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Gegenstücke: Hirten mit Kühen und Ziegen in weiten Landschaften. 1792. im März 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 18.000,00 (€ 14.779,41).
