Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Times Square by Johann Berthelsen for USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,369.97). This price was achieved in the auction From Coast to Coast: Property from a Private Florida Collection at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Johann Berthelsen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Flatiron Building, which sold at auction in March 2007 for USD 28,800.00 (€ 21,534.32).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Times Square von Johann Berthelsen für USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.369,97) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion From Coast to Coast: Property from a Private Florida Collection bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Johann Berthelsen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Flatiron Building beobachtet, die im März 2007 für USD 28.800,00 (€ 21.534,32) versteigert wurde.
